[attr="class","ruleheader"]001. the roleplayer
[attr="class","ruletext"]Every role player here has to follow some simplistic rules. Honestly, none of these are out of the ordinary or hard to follow. Be kind and thoughtful to your fellow role players. Everybody is different and everybody has a different way of taking things, so just try to be considerate of everyone here. Don't curse an obscene amount, try to be conscious of other people's views, religion, and ideas, and don't do anything that has even a speck of malicious intent. It will not be tolerated here.
There is not a character limit, per say, but every character needs to be kept active. If you have five characters but only ever use two of them, it doesn't make sense to keep all of them. Be aware of your characters and their activity. If you have recently made a character, your newest one needs to be in a thread before you can create a second one. We don't want a bunch of names that sit and do nothing.

[attr="class","ruleheader"]002. the roleplaying
[attr="class","ruletext"]All roleplaying here is done in third person and in sentences. No text speak unless it is called for -- i.e. on a character's thread made as a phone -- or in the ooc notes. You can use whatever tense you prefer, as long as you keep it consistent. Posts here are not necessarily in real time, so your character can be in multiple threads at the same point in time, but try not to overload -- don't take more than you can handle. Characters need to be in at least one thread to be considered active in any activity checks, unless they're new. Try not to make a bunch of characters that aren't in any threading though. You claimed the spirit. So use them.
Typical rule apply to the content. Don't god mode -- you control only your character, not how another responds to yours. Your character, despite being based off of unrealistic expectations, is only human. Keep that in mind. In a fight, you aren't going to dodge every swing. Be realistic. If two characters start getting frisky, please fade to black. We don't mind a little making out, but don't full out start an erotica role play. This also goes for any graphic fighting. Nobody wants to have to read descriptive gore. Keep it classy, in every sense. If you're role playing with someone who isn't comfortable with that kind of content, then be respectful of that.

[attr="class","ruleheader"]003. the graphics
[attr="class","ruletext"]We have a lot of pretty things to mess around with coding wise on proboards. Keep all of your graphics a size that's not going to stretch the board - whether it's a posting template or a signature image or a picture in a post. If there's a font you'd like to be added, we do have the google font plug in here on SoPD -- just PM Kitty the google font name and the weights that it comes in and we will gladly add it. For the mini profile, the hover image should be of your play by (unless the account is a master alias account, then do what you please) and the actual avatar of your Disney spirit. I personally made the avatar 150x150 and the hover 200x325 and they turned out not too pixelated.
If you can't or wouldn't like to make graphics, please check out the graphics board. If you like to make graphics, check it out too! Get some help or expand your graphic wings and help other people. Style tags are enabled, so anything fancy like that you can mess with.

[attr="class","ruleheader"]004. the characters
[attr="class","ruletext"]Using a Disney character as inspiration is fun for a character. That's the point of this website. But keep in mind that the characters are an inspiration and a personification. If you want to roleplay Tinkerbell, she can't secretly be a fairy. This is set in the real world, and real world rules apply. Characters also don't need to be connected the way they usually are. Prince Charming and Cinderella don't necessarily have to get together. Anna and Elsa don't have to be sisters. Those things are fun to toy around with, and it's always nice to have those preset connections, but they are not necessary. If you want to play one of Ariel's sisters, you can PM back and forth with the person that plays Ariel, but you don't have to have any relation if that's what you want. With that in mind, it's always nice to give a quick PM just so the two roleplayers can be on the same page.
You also need to keep in mind that you aren't the only person roleplaying. Try to make both minor and major characters. Don't claim three different leads as your first three characters. Also try to be aware of the characters you create being different. Don't have six white boys, or three Asian teenagers. Be willing to open up to new possibilities for your characters. Try new ethnicities, new ages, new personalities. Be brave. Be bold.

[attr="class","ruletext]That about sums everything up! Nothing too hard or crazy. If you've read all of this and you're creating your first character, PM Kitty with your favourite Disney movie -- just so we know you've read all of the rules. Your character won't be accepted until you've done this, just to ensure that everyone has at least skimmed through this. PM Kitty with any questions and happy roleplaying!
